What is the Arizona Veterans StandDown Alliance?
The 2026 Maricopa County StandDown will be March 12-13 in Phoenix.
A program of the Arizona Housing Coalition, the Arizona Veterans StandDown Alliance (AVSA) holds events and resource fairs across the state to allow veterans and their families who are experiencing housing instability and homelessness to get and stay connected to housing and supportive services.
Expected to attract over 1,500 veterans across the valley, this StandDown event is the nation’s largest of its kind. Click here to learn more, become a sponsor, sign up to volunteer, or express interest in becoming a service provider.

- A donation of $50 helps provide a veteran with a haircut and eye exam.
- A donation of $100 helps a veteran settle their court case.
- A donation of $250 helps give a veteran the assistance and training they need to start a new job.
- A donation of $500 helps provide a veteran with transitional housing.
2025 Recap of StandDown Events
In 2025, more than 3,000 veterans and their families were served at 18 AVSA-sponsored StandDown events across Arizona.
In 2025 alone, 700+ chronically homeless and transitional veterans were served, 500+ newly employed veterans were assisted through the Veteran’s Toolkit Program, and 100+ newly housed veterans were provided move-in kits through AVSA’s partnership with Community Bridges, Inc.
As a result of processes learned through AVSA’s past coordination of the Project H3 Vets initiative, more than 1,200 chronically homeless veterans have been housed in Maricopa County since 2015.
Thank You, AVSA Sponsors
Through Angry Crab Shack’s 2025 “You Dine, We Donate” campaign, the brand vowed to donate $0.25 for every dine-in guest at all of their Arizona locations during the month of July. This resulted in a check for $25,000 being presented to the Arizona Veterans StandDown Alliance to help connect veterans and their families experiencing housing instability or homelessness with necessary support and resources. We extend our gratitude to Angry Crab Shack and everyoe who dined in during July for the 2025 “You Dine, We Donate” campaign.
The success of the coordination and programming for the Arizona Veterans StandDown Alliance is in large part due to the support from the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services. Their support has enabled us to provide services that help end veteran homelessness such as Project H3 Vets, administration of AZDVS Toolkits, and furniture delivery for veterans moving into permanent housing.
The Disabled Veterans National Foundation provides critically needed support to disabled and at-risk veterans who leave the military wounded (physically or psychologically) after defending our safety and our freedom. Through their Health & Comfort Program, we received Comfort Kits for distribution to veterans across Arizona. These kits (blankets, toiletries, clothing, etc.) are designed to meet the unique needs of veterans and offer critical support where they are needed most.
