As we know, Arizona summers can be deadly, with over 2,000 Arizonans going to the ER annually since 2011 due to heat-related illnesses. On average, Phoenix and Yuma experience over 100 days of triple-digit heat per year. One-third of heat-related deaths in this desert climate are incurred by those experiencing homelessness.
