Tribal communities throughout Arizona are grappling with the significant challenges posed by the shortage of affordable housing. Tribal members are becoming unhoused, which often leads to the loss of vital connections to their families, homelands, and cultural practices. Potential changes in federal funding and program administration are contributing to disruption and uncertainty. The first ever Tribal Housing Symposium, held May 6, 2025 at the Phoenix Convention Center, offered an opportunity to convene, share concerns, and explore solutions.
